Taking action to bring 32.2 million children to school

ABKDF is an independent non-profit works towards education for teenage children particularly for girls. The foundation is working towards achieving NEP 2020 goal to accomplish 100% Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in school education by 2030. We believe the education and health go hand in hand. Education of girls brings an especially high payback for health.

Education lifts the status of women. We know that women who have a share of the household income tend to invest in the welfare of their families, uniforms and books for school, better food etc. Educated girls have fewer babies, and they have them later in life.

Educated girls also make better mothers. A literate girl or woman is also far more likely to be health literate. It protects their sexual health, and protects against domestic violence.

The foundation is working towards fulfilling SDG 4 goal to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. In the Indian context, SGD 4 is particularly significant given the country’s large population and its commitment to providing education for all.
